The future of roaming is data

The record growth in mobile data traffic and the impact this trend is having on the bandwidth capacity and bottom line of all mobile network operators (MNOs) is an undisputed fact. As a leader in the mobile roaming market, Comfone has long known that the future of roaming is data. With a data strategy focussed on helping MNOs meet user demand for anywhere, anytime data roaming, Comfone is ahead of the market with its data roaming solutions.

Comfone is the only provider in the mobile telecom market currently offering roaming on both GSM and WiFi in an integrated platform. The increasing data roaming traffic is stretching bandwidth capacity to its limits and MNOs are attempting to offload their traffic onto WLAN. Comfone’s innovative WeRoam IP hub has converged GSM and WiFi traffic into one hub with fully integrated Data and Financial Clearing services.

As one of the biggest wireless IP hubs in the world, WeRoam offers a global footprint of over 60’000 hotspots and counts tier one operators such as AT&T, the Orange Group, BT Openzone, TeliaSonera and BeeLine Russia among its impressive list of customers. Comfone further underscores its leadership in data roaming with strong Signalling and GRX services. Comfone’s GRX service provides customers global IP inter-connectivity to over 500 GPRS/3G/HSxPA networks and reaches every single GPRS enabled MNO in the world. Offering a superb high performance network and full access redundancy, Comfone has earned its position as one of the world’s leading GRX providers.

The innovative next step in Comfone’s data roaming strategy is the launch of a completely integrated data roaming solution based on its successful Key2roam hub. Comfone’s Roaming Optimisation & Monitoring offers complete roaming traffic control

The importance of accurate roaming traffic management makes it necessary for mobile network operators (MNOs) to have access to complete roaming traffic information within their networks.

In response to growing MNO demand for a simple, roaming specific tool which offers transparent roaming data monitoring, Comfone is launching ROM, a web-based Roaming Optimisation & Monitoring tool. ROM is now globally available to operators and delivers a comprehensive insight into daily roaming traffic behaviour. Click here to read more.
