Comfone’s Data Clearing House celebrates its second month of successful operation

More than 5,500 roaming connections are now managed over Comfone’s Data Clearing platform

Bern, Switzerland, 05 February, 2009 – Comfone, the Swiss-based roaming specialist and provider of services to more than 300 mobile operators around the world, today confirmed that its Data Clearing House has been successfully operating for more than two months providing Data Clearing Services to mobile operators worldwide.

The Data Clearing House was set up by partners Comfone and Infobrain, a global market leader in providing systems for GSM/3G roaming and TAP3 data management, on 1st December 2008. Within a short timeframe many Comfone Data Clearing customers and all of Comfone’s Key2roam Roaming Hub relationships have been migrated to the new Clearing platform. In total over 5,500 roaming connections have been set up and are now successfully maintained over Comfone’s Data Clearing platform.

With the establishment of its Data Clearing House, Comfone completes its service portfolio in support of all services recommended by the GSMA’s Open Connectivity project for Roaming Hubs. Comfone Key2roam, the industry’s first and biggest operational Roaming Hub with over 100 live mobile operators and managing more than 1,500 roaming connections, is now fully supported by Comfone’s Data Clearing platform. The Key2roam Roaming Hub Service enables any operator to establish multiple roaming relationships with networks around the world through a single roaming hubbing agreement with Comfone.

Mathias Prüssing, CEO Comfone, said: “The migration of our first customers and all our Key2roam Roaming Hub relationships has been realised according to our plans and together with our partner, Infobrain. The flexibility, expertise and independence of both our companies has allowed us to launch a competent Data Clearing House in very little time. I am convinced that we are on the right path and will be successful with our Swiss-based internationally active Data Clearing House.”
