Wireless subscribers worldwide access hotspots in all Olympic locations via Comfone’s WeRoam service

Bern, Switzerland & Beijing, China, 21 October, 2008 – As reports continue to record the sporting and business success of the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Comfone and Coordinate Technologies today disclose the successful launch of their partnership which brought greater wireless communication possibilities to sporting personnel, businesses and tourists during the event. Comfone, a leading worldwide GSM and Wireless IP roaming hub provider, together with Coordinate Technologies Communication Limited, the leading Wi-Fi aggregator in China, enabled Comfone’s customers to roam on over 1248 business-grade hotspots operated by China Mobile and China Netcom.

The partnership enabled mobile operators and service providers to offer wireless roaming services to their subscribers and to add all Chinese Olympic locations to their network coverage in time for the Opening ceremony of the Games. With the success during Olympics, both companies are now working together to extend the roaming service to include all China Mobile Wi-Fi hotspots, as well as other leading Chinese Wi-Fi network operators.
