A choice of add-on service options

With Enhanced Signalling, Comfone offers operators the option to extend roaming coverage through customised service levels, reducing costs and adding value to roaming services.

Signalling access

Mobile operators may connect to Comfone's signalling infrastructure via Comfone Signalling Access over Public Internet, Signalling Access over private MPLS or via dedicated access with a leased line to one of Comfone's Meet-Me-Point Telehouses. Signalling Access over Internet (SAoI), an innovative solution provided by Comfone, offers a quick and a cost effective access method to connect operators to Comfone's infrastructure.

SCCP routing

Comfone's full SCCP (Signalling Connection Control Part) routing service is based on GT (Global Title). Comfone tracks all changes in the IR.21, published by GSM operators, and updates the GT routing tables accordingly. This subsequently reduces the operators' maintenance workload. Operators that have their own International Signalling Point Code (ISPC) can use an international spare point code to connect to Comfone's SCCP routing service.

Online reporting

Online reporting is designed to help operators evaluate costs verses roaming revenue per destination, thus supporting customers in adjusting their business models to focus on high potential destinations. MSU statistics are made available to directly connected customers via secure, password protected web access.

ITU/ANSI Signalling conversion

Comfone's Enhanced Signalling includes a supplementary service for signalling conversion between ITU and ANSI based operators. This signalling conversion is needed for roaming between GSM operators in America and GSM operators based on the ITU standard. The conversion service includes mobile number portability handling for SMS delivery to North American operators.

SMS Interworking

SMS Interworking enables mobile operators to invoice the bulk of SMSs received from SMS Interworking partners that are terminated in their network. A monthly report provides operators with an overview of bulk SMS activity.

Roaming management

Comfone experts train start-up operators in all activities related to the roaming management of bilateral relations. Training covers activities such as cross-checking with selected roaming partners to establish bilateral roaming with the new operator, negotiating International Roaming Agreements (IRA)and coordinating its signing and activation as well as designating a date for commercial roaming and additional future IRA administration.

Advanced Signalling for Comfone’s Hub solutions

Comfone’s Signalling service supports all of Comfone’s Hub solutions which include Key2roam, Global Cellular Service (GCS) and MMS Hubs. GCS and Key2roam further simplify roaming by centralising the contractual, technical and operational aspects of roaming. The Comfone Hub solutions offer revolutionary models for establishing international GSM roaming.
